Yes, it is very unlikely that an item of furniture will not fit.
Do I need to come to the storage premises if I’ve booked a removal and storage combined?
No. We can take your items and place them in storage without you being there. You can sign all the relevant documents online.

Self-Storage Redbridge
IG Storage Collection in Redbridge
The London Borough of Redbridge stretches from Ilford in the south through Gants Hill and Barkingside to Woodford and Wanstead, covering every IG postcode from IG1 to IG8. The borough has just two walk-in storage facilities of any size.
For residents in Seven Kings, Goodmayes, Clayhall or Aldborough Hatch, reaching one means hiring a van, loading it outside a house with no off-street parking, and joining the A12 or A406 in traffic.
Self-storage Redbridge through RMV removes that journey entirely. We bring a secure container to your IG address, load it there and take the sealed unit to our monitored facility.
About Redbridge Self Storage Services
Fifteen years and more of London storage and removals, plus AIM accreditation, sit behind every RMV booking. Fencing, alarms and 24-hour CCTV guard the containers, and full Goods in Transit and warehouse-keeper liability insurance covers what is inside. The facility has access-controlled gates, a perimeter fence, intruder alarms and CCTV around the clock. Independent credentials, not short-lived offers, show whether storage is worth it. There is more on our background on the About Us page.
What Does Redbridge Storage Cost?
Picture a box 155 cm wide, 215 cm deep and 245 cm tall: that is one container, 280 cubic feet. Pay £19.99 a week for each container you use: £39.98 for two, £59.97 for three, £119.94 for six.
One price covers collection from your IG address, crew, wrapping, dismantling, transport and the return trip.
Weekend collections cost the same, there are no per-visit fees and no introductory rates. Customers searching for cheap self-storage or affordable self-storage across the IG postcodes will find that the total cost undercuts walk-in depots once you add the van hire, fuel, and loading labour those facilities assume you will provide yourself. Do the full sum: van, fuel and loading plus rent, when comparing storage prices.
Each booking runs month to month, with no contract. You can cancel at any time, without extra fees: give at least 10 working days' notice, and storage is charged until the notice period ends.
The same terms suit a brief completion gap or a long stay overseas.
Sizing Up Your Redbridge Move
A studio flat or large bedroom fits in one container. Book a pair of containers for a one-bedroom home. Three cover a standard two or three-bedroom home, the dominant format across Redbridge, from the Edwardian terraces between Cranbrook Road and Perth Road in IG1, through the inter-war semis lining Barkingside High Street and the streets around Fullwell Cross in IG6, to the 1930s houses along Clayhall Avenue and Longwood Gardens in IG5. Four to six containers absorb the larger detached properties found along Wanstead Park Avenue, the Victorian villas on the roads off George Lane in South Woodford, and the family homes in Woodford Green and Woodford Bridge.
There is no paying for unused space: book one container or several as needed. Our online tool estimates containers from your rooms and furniture, so you book exactly what you need.
Storage During a Redbridge House Move
Redbridge’s property market covers a wider range than any single neighbourhood page can describe. At the southern end, the Edwardian terraces in Ilford and Seven Kings turn over quickly among first-time buyers drawn by the Elizabeth line connection to the City and Canary Wharf. In the middle, the inter-war semis around Barkingside and Clayhall attract families upgrading from those terraces.
At the northern end, the detached houses in Wanstead and the Victorian villas in South Woodford serve buyers trading up from across East London. Chains in this market routinely run four or five properties deep, and the pattern of movement, flat in IG1 to semi in IG6 to detached in IG8, creates long sequences where any delay cascades.
Storage helps when completion dates move. On moving day our Redbridge removals team loads the containers, and once you have keys we deliver to your new home. Removal and storage under one roof means no handover risk between separate firms.
Smaller jobs follow the same model. Furniture removed during a kitchen extension on a Barkingside semi, a loft conversion clearing on an Edwardian terrace in Goodmayes where the original roof pitch gives generous headroom, or belongings from a rented flat near the Ilford station being vacated between tenancies.
A single trip by our Redbridge man and van takes your items straight to the facility. Between-houses storage is popular, and one provider means one booking and no handover. Because we do both, booking storage for a move takes just one call.
Who Uses Self-Storage in Redbridge?
Storage facilities near Redbridge serve a densely populated borough where the housing stock spans four distinct eras: Edwardian terraces built without garages in Ilford and Seven Kings, inter-war semis with integral garages long since converted in Barkingside and Clayhall, Victorian villas in Wanstead and South Woodford where the original outbuildings have been demolished for extensions, and post-war estates across Hainault and Chadwell Heath with limited cupboard space.
Homeowners across every IG postcode use furniture storage during rear extensions, side-return builds, and the full rewires and replastering jobs that follow when buyers move into an unrenovated property. Landlords managing rental portfolios along Ilford Lane and the High Road rotate furnishings between tenancies.
Every summer, students renting in the IG postcodes, many at the University of East London, store their belongings with us over the break.
Business storage units serve the independent retailers, textile importers, and food wholesalers along Ilford Lane and the High Road, the small enterprises scattered across the industrial units on Hainault Road, and the growing number of home-based businesses across the borough who need overflow space for stock without committing to commercial rent.
Document storage and archive storage suit the solicitor offices, dental surgeries, and accountancy practices clustered around Cranbrook Road, George Lane in South Woodford, and the Barkingside High Street, firms with limited premises and years of regulatory records to retain.
Seasonal storage works for any Redbridge household where garden furniture, sports equipment, festival decorations, and barbecue sets compete for the same narrow shed or converted garage that was never designed to hold an entire household’s overflow.
Near Ilford, Gants Hill and South Woodford stations, where parking needs a permit, a second car can go into vehicle storage.
Cyclists commuting to Stratford or the Olympic Park without covered parking keep spare bikes safe in bike storage units instead of a front garden.
Garage storage units appeal to trades professionals across the IG postcodes, electricians, plumbers, and builders serving the residential renovation market from Wanstead to Chadwell Heath, who need a secure place for tools and materials without renting a commercial bay on the A12 corridor.
Every container is insured to £2,000 and kept clean, dry and ventilated.
Packing for Storage
Belongings stored for a long time benefit from the right packing. Cover upholstery with dust sheets, wrap each glass and ceramic item and seal mattresses in protective bags.
For an earlier start, book our Redbridge packing service, or order bubble wrap, boxes and tape from the Packing Shop to your IG address.
You can read packing advice and the list of storable items on our blog. Your items come out as they went in when they are packed with care.
Coverage Across and Beyond Redbridge

Storage tips
Storing it the right way
Your container is yours alone
Each container is allocated to one customer and sealed after loading, so nobody else has access to the contents. Containers are stacked inside a monitored, alarmed and access-controlled warehouse, not left in a yard.
How container storage worksSet a review date
Put a review date in the calendar on day one: six weeks of storage during a chain can quietly become three years. At each review, bring it home, dispose of it, or decide to keep storing it for a stated reason.
Is storage worth it?Ending storage properly
Give the notice your agreement requires and book the return delivery to whichever address you choose. Decide what is not coming home before the delivery: selling or donating from a warehouse is easier than from a hallway.
Storage rules explainedI found RMV online when I was looking to switch my storage as the one I was using was costing me extravagant amounts of money and I wasn’t happy with the service . Upon reaching out to them , they were extremely helpful and gave me a very reasonable quotation and came to collect my stuff from my storage unit AND wrapped it up for me so it doesn’t get damaged !
Throughout the time being with RMV the communication was always prompt and easy. And when it was time for me to move they also unloaded all my stuff on time and with respect to my property. I can’t thank them enough for all their help. Anyone who is looking for reliable , affordable and trustworthy storage should definitely use RMV London!
