Take a look at our London Storage UnitWhat is the size of each container?
Each container is 155cm (5 feet) wide x 215cm (7 feet) deep x 245cm (8 feet) tall. This is 3.3 sq metres (35 square feet) and 8 cubic metres (280 cubic feet).
How many containers does a Hoxton flat need?
A canal-side new-build or Curtain Road warehouse flat often fits one container, a flat above a shop on Hoxton Street takes two, and a Victorian terrace two-bedroom takes three.
Do creative studios in Hoxton use your storage?
Yes. Studios, agencies and galleries around Hoxton Square and Rivington Street store props, lighting rigs and exhibition materials between commissions.
Why not use a storage depot near Old Street?
Nearby depots on Peerless Street, Eagle Wharf Road and Hows Street all need a van loaded on streets with no legal parking. We bring the container to you.
Is it possible to fit large pieces of furniture inside?
Yes, it is very unlikely that an item of furniture will not fit.
Do I need to come to the storage premises if I’ve booked a removal and storage combined?
No. We can take your items and place them in storage without you being there. You can sign all the relevant documents online.
Is the storage site safe and secure?
Yes, they are fully alarmed with CCTV. The premises are protected by security fencing and gates as well as the required safety measures.
Is it possible to access my belongings once they are in storage?

Are there any restrictions on what I can store?
Yes, there are a few exceptions, please refer to our terms and conditions
When I want to remove my belongings from storage permanently do I need to give you advance notice?

Are my items insured?
Yes. Each container has insurance for a total value of £2000. You can also purchase extra insurance if your items are worth more.
Do I need a padlock?
No. Each container has is own self-locking system.

Self-Storage Hoxton
Hoxton Storage, Delivered to N1 and E2 Doors
Hoxton sits between some of the most expensive commercial real estate in London and some of the highest-density residential blocks in the borough. The walk-in storage options nearby reflect that squeeze, Urban Locker on Peerless Street off Old Street, Access Self Storage on Eagle Wharf Road beside the Regent’s Canal, and Crispins on Hows Street off Kingsland Road.
All three serve the area well, but all three require you to hire a van, load it on a street where double-yellows or residents-only bays leave nowhere legal to park, and drive through the Old Street roundabout or along Kingsland Road during hours when delivery vans and Uber drivers already fill every lane.
About Hoxton Self Storage Services
RMV takes the hassle out of storage in Hoxton. At your N1 or E2 address, our crew loads a secure container with your wrapped belongings, then we take it to our monitored facility. Getting your belongings back is simple: the same container comes to the address you choose.
We have been moving and storing for London households, including in Hoxton, for over fifteen years, and we are AIM accredited. The site is fenced, alarmed and on CCTV 24 hours a day, and your goods are insured under full Goods in Transit and warehouse-keeper liability policies. The storage site is fenced, gated, alarmed and covered by CCTV at all hours.
Accreditation and insurance you can check are worth more than a promotional rate that expires. More about who we are is on the About Us page.
Pricing for Hoxton Storage
You get 35 sq ft of floor per container, 245 cm of height and 280 cu ft in total, from a 155 x 215 cm base. Each container is £19.99 a week. Two cost £39.98, three cost £59.97, and six cost £119.94.
You pay one inclusive rate for collection from your N1 or E2 address, wrapping, dismantling, transport and delivery when you are ready.
The price does not jump after an introductory period, and there are no visit fees or weekend surcharges. Customers searching for cheap self-storage or affordable self-storage in N1 will find that the total cost undercuts corridor-access units near Old Street once you add the van hire, congestion charge, fuel, and loading labour those facilities assume you will arrange yourself.
Cheap storage is about the total cost, including getting your things there, not the advertised rate.
Storage runs from month to month, with no minimum contract. There is no minimum period and no charge for leaving: give at least 10 working days' notice, and storage is charged until the notice period ends.
Whether you need weeks during a completion delay or a year abroad, the structure fits.
How Much Storage Space in Hoxton?
A single container holds the contents of a large bedroom or a studio flat, the format that fills the new-build blocks along Regent’s Canal and the warehouse conversions on Curtain Road.
A one-bedroom move typically needs two containers.
Three cover a standard two-bedroom home, the most common layout in the Victorian terraces between Nuttall Street and Ivy Street and the later council-built blocks across the De Beauvoir borders.
Four to six containers absorb the larger maisonettes and the three-bedroom houses found along Bridport Place and toward Haggerston.
You choose the number of containers, so a few boxes cost little and a house costs only what it fills.
Use our calculator to turn your rooms and furniture into a container count, then book only those.
Storage During a Hoxton House Move
The Hoxton property market combines ex-council stock, Victorian terrace conversions, and the high-specification new-builds that have transformed every available plot along the canal and around Hoxton Square. Rental turnover is fast, chain-dependent sales are unpredictable, and lease end dates rarely align with the handover of a new property.
Storage fills those gaps. Our Hoxton removals crew fills the containers on moving day, holds them at the facility and delivers when your new home is ready.
The removal and storage are a single job: one crew, one policy, one point of contact.
Storage between houses is one of the most common N1 bookings, particularly for renters leaving a flat-share on Kingsland Road and waiting for a tenancy to start elsewhere.
Smaller jobs follow the same model. A single room clearing ahead of a bathroom refit, studio equipment that needs to vacate during building works, or furniture from a flat that is being staged for sale, our Hoxton man and van collects, loads, and delivers to the facility in one trip. Removals and storage booked together means one team and one policy, not two companies.
Who Uses Self-Storage in Hoxton?
Storage facilities near Hoxton serve one of the most creatively dense neighbourhoods in London, where residential space doubles as workspace and neither has room to spare. Homeowners and long-term renters across N1 and E2 use furniture storage during kitchen upgrades, rewiring projects, and the refurbishments that follow a property purchase in a conservation area where council approval adds months to a build schedule.
Landlords managing rental flats along Pitfield Street and Hoxton Square rotate furnishings between tenancies.
Student storage London picks up each summer from students at London Metropolitan University, Ravensbourne, and the postgraduate renters across Shoreditch who store between academic years or internships.
Business storage units serve the creative studios, design agencies, and independent galleries clustered around Hoxton Square, Rivington Street, and the railway arches between Shoreditch High Street and Bethnal Green. Photographers, set designers, and event producers rotate props, lighting rigs, and exhibition materials through storage between commissions.
Document storage and archive storage suit the tech startups and co-working operators around the Old Street roundabout who retain paper records but occupy hot-desk spaces with no filing capacity.
Seasonal storage works for restaurants and bars along Kingsland Road and Great Eastern Street that rotate outdoor furniture, heaters, and promotional materials through the year.
Vehicle storage suits residents in CPZ-restricted streets who keep a second vehicle or a motorbike they cannot park outside the property.
Bike storage units serve the cycling commuters heading to Old Street, Hoxton Overground, or Hackney Central who lack covered parking at home and face persistent theft risk from hallway or communal-area storage.
Garage storage units appeal to trades professionals across N1 and E2 who need a secure place for tools and materials without committing to commercial rent in one of London’s most expensive postcode areas. With ventilation to stop damp, each clean, dry container carries £2,000 of standard insurance.
Packing for Storage
Longer storage periods call for some preparation. Seal mattresses, wrap every glass and ceramic item on its own, and protect sofas with dust sheets.
For packing before collection, choose our Hoxton packing service or buy cartons, bubble wrap and tape from the Packing Shop, delivered to your N1 or E2 address.
See the blog for guides on packing your container and on items you can store. Good packing, not just a good price, keeps belongings in the state they went in.
Coverage Beyond Hoxton
We cover every postcode across the area and beyond. The same container service runs in Islington, Dalston, Clerkenwell, Canonbury, and Stoke Newington. Relocating overseas from Hoxton? international removals handles the shipping, documentation and container logistics.
Keep possessions in the UK while you live abroad: storage continues at the same weekly rate.

Storage tips
Storing it the right way
Your container is yours alone
Each container is allocated to one customer and sealed after loading, so nobody else has access to the contents. Containers are stacked inside a monitored, alarmed and access-controlled warehouse, not left in a yard.
How container storage worksSet a review date
Put a review date in the calendar on day one: six weeks of storage during a chain can quietly become three years. At each review, bring it home, dispose of it, or decide to keep storing it for a stated reason.
Is storage worth it?Ending storage properly
Give the notice your agreement requires and book the return delivery to whichever address you choose. Decide what is not coming home before the delivery: selling or donating from a warehouse is easier than from a hallway.
