Self-Storage Greenford

Greenford Storage Containers Picked Up from UB6

Greenford sits at the junction of the A40 Western Avenue and Greenford Road, with two large walk-in depots, Shurgard on the Greenford roundabout and Vanguard at Alperton Lane, competing for UB6 customers.

Both offer clean units and decent security, but both also require you to hire a van, load it yourself at home, drive through the Greenford roundabout or along the A40 in traffic, and unload again into a corridor or container you share access to with hundreds of other tenants.

RMV storage in Greenford works another way. Our crew arrives at your UB6 address with a container, dismantles and wraps your furniture, loads it and takes it to our monitored site.

About Greenford Self Storage Services

Need everything returned? We bring the same container to whatever address you give us.

RMV has more than fifteen years of experience in London removals and storage, with AIM accreditation. We hold Goods in Transit and warehouse-keeper liability insurance in full; the premises have intruder alarms, perimeter fencing and 24-hour CCTV. Security includes round-the-clock CCTV, alarms, a fenced perimeter and gated access.

For customers asking is self-storage worth it, those independently verifiable credentials are more meaningful than introductory-month discounts that quietly reset to full rate. You can read more about the company on our About Us page.

Greenford Self-Storage Prices

With 35 square feet of floor and a height of 245 cm, each 155 x 215 cm container holds 280 cubic feet. You pay £19.99 weekly per container, so two cost £39.98, three £59.97 and the maximum of six £119.94.

The price covers everything: collection from your UB6 address, labour, dismantling, wrapping, transport and delivery back when you need it.

There are no teaser rates, no visit fees and no weekend extras. Customers searching for cheap self-storage or affordable self-storage in UB6 will find that this total cost competes with the headline rates at the Western Avenue depots once van hire, fuel, and the hours of loading labour are factored in.

If you are looking for cheap storage near me, compare the total cost of getting things into storage, not just the weekly rate.

Storage is rolling and monthly, so you are never tied to a contract. You can cancel at any time, with no minimum stay or exit fee: give at least 10 working days' notice, and storage is charged until the notice period ends.

That structure works for both short term storage rental during a six-week completion gap and long term storage rental for customers who store for a year or more while working abroad or waiting on a property chain.

Sizing Your Greenford Storage

That fits a large bedroom or a studio. For a one-bedroom flat, book two containers.

Three cover a standard two-bedroom home, the format that dominates the 1930s semi-detached streets between Oldfield Lane and Ruislip Road.

Four to six containers absorb the larger three- and four-bedroom houses found in South Greenford toward Hanwell and the detached properties near Horsenden Hill. Book just the containers you need, whether that is one for some archive boxes or several for a house.

Use the online calculator, or call 0208 0900 232 for a personal estimate.

Storage During a Greenford House Move

Greenford’s property market is driven by family buyers upgrading from flats to houses, and by first-time buyers stretching into UB6 from pricier Ealing postcodes. Both groups encounter the same timing problems: chain collapses, delayed mortgage offers, and new-build completions on the Oldfield Lane and canal-side developments that slip by weeks or months.

Storage fills the gap between moving out and moving in. Our Greenford removals team packs your home into containers on the day you move out and brings them to your new address once it is ready. With house removals with storage you book once and deal with one crew and one insurance policy, with no hand-off between two companies.

Smaller moves follow the same model. A room clearing ahead of a kitchen extension, a home office relocating for building works, or a few heavy items that will not fit a downsized flat, our Greenford man and van collects, loads, and delivers to the facility in one trip.

That flexibility turns storage units for moving into a single phone call, and it proves that removals and storage can be managed by one company, same fleet, same crew training, same insurance cover.

Who Uses Self-Storage in Greenford?

Storage facilities near Greenford serve a catchment that runs from Perivale through to Northolt and down to Hanwell. The use cases reflect the housing stock and the area’s commercial character. Homeowners across UB6 use furniture storage during the side-return extensions and loft conversions that are transforming Greenford’s 1930s semis into four-bedroom family homes.

Landlords managing rental flats along the Greenford Road corridor and the new-build blocks near Greenford station rotate tenant furnishings between tenancies. Student storage London picks up each summer from students at the University of West London in nearby Ealing and Brunel University in Uxbridge, many of whom rent rooms in the UB6 shared houses that empty between terms.

Business storage units meet strong demand in the Greenford area. The light-industrial estates along Greenford Road, Perivale Lane, and the canal corridor house workshops, distribution firms, and trade contractors who need overflow space for tools, parts, and inventory without committing to a larger unit lease.

Document storage and archive storage suit the dental practices, accountancy offices, and solicitor firms on Oldfield Lane and the Broadway that retain years of physical records under regulatory obligations.

Seasonal storage works for any UB6 household where the property has a single garage already committed to car parking, camping equipment, Christmas decorations, garden furniture, and children’s outgrown belongings cycle in and out of a container through the year.

Vehicle storage suits residents who keep a second car, classic vehicle, or motorcycle but have no driveway space beyond what the single garage provides.

Bike storage units serve commuters on the Central line at Greenford and the new Elizabeth line connection at nearby Southall who cycle to the station and need covered storage at home.

Garage storage units appeal to the plumbers, electricians, and builders based across UB6 and Northolt who need a secure place for stock and equipment between jobs.

Storage between houses is a frequent Greenford request, families selling a 1930s semi and waiting on a new-build completion, or downsizers moving into a flat who need months to decide what stays and what goes. Containers are clean, dry and ventilated to keep damp out, and insured to £2,000 as standard.

Packing for Storage

If you are storing for a long time, prepare your belongings carefully. Use mattress covers, individual wrapping for glassware and ceramics, and dust sheets for upholstered furniture.

Want to pack ahead? Book our Greenford packing service, or have boxes, bubble wrap, mattress bags and tape from the Packing Shop delivered to your UB6 address.

The blog covers packing a container efficiently and what our insurance does and does not cover. Understanding how much does self-storage cost matters, but protecting what goes inside is what ensures belongings emerge in the same condition, whether they stay for six weeks or two years.

Coverage Beyond Greenford

RMV collects from every postcode across Ealing borough and the surrounding UB area. The same container service runs in Perivale, Southall, Acton, Wembley, and Hayes. For a move from Greenford to an overseas address, our international removals service takes care of shipping and customs.

Expatriates often leave some belongings with us at the same weekly rate rather than keeping a UK tenancy.

Store a few boxes or a whole house in Greenford: insured, loaded by our team, no contract and one fixed weekly price.

No battling through the Greenford roundabout with a hired van, no queuing for a lift at a depot on the A40, no padlock to lose.

Storage tips

Storing it the right way

Insurance

Contents are insured to £2,000 per container as standard, with extra cover available for higher-value items. Photograph what goes in, and declare valuables before loading, as undeclared items are commonly excluded.

How container storage works

What fits in a container

Each container is 155 cm wide, 215 cm deep and 245 cm tall, about 280 cubic feet. As a rough guide, one takes a large bedroom or studio flat, two a one-bedroom flat, three a two-bedroom property, and five or six a four-bedroom house.

How container storage works

Is it worth storing?

Ask two questions: would you buy it again today at full price, and would storing it for as long as you expect cost more than replacing it later? Irreplaceable items, and records you must legally keep, sit outside that test.

Is storage worth it?
Antonio Zappadu

I called RMV LONDON to move my furniture to one of their storage while I will be away for the Summer. I packed all my boxes worried it was too much stuff for one person's work, but the guy who came at 09:00am needed only 20 minutes to load the van, giving me plenty of time to clean up before leaving for the station. Amazing service, attention to details, competitive price. Higly recommended!
