Got questions?
We've got answers...
Where is your storage site located?
35a Marsh Way, Rainham RM13 8UH
Take a look at our London Storage UnitWhat is the size of each container?
Each container is 155cm (5 feet) wide x 215cm (7 feet) deep x 245cm (8 feet) tall. This is 3.3 sq metres (35 square feet) and 8 cubic metres (280 cubic feet).
Can you collect from an upper-floor mansion flat in Bayswater?
Yes. Our crew brings protective blankets, tools for dismantling beds and wardrobes, and a specialist trolley for buildings with lifts, which most Bayswater mansion blocks and Victorian conversions need.
How many containers does a Bayswater flat need?
Two suit a typical one-bedroom conversion on Craven Hill or Leinster Gardens, three a two-bedroom apartment, and five or six a full lateral flat or maisonette on the garden squares around Paddington and Sussex Gardens.
Is storage useful in W2 without a garage or loft?
Yes. Many W2 flats have no garage, loft or basement, so winter coats, ski gear, garden furniture and decorations can rotate through a single container at £19.99 per week.
Is it possible to fit large pieces of furniture inside?
Yes, it is very unlikely that an item of furniture will not fit.
Do I need to come to the storage premises if I’ve booked a removal and storage combined?
No. We can take your items and place them in storage without you being there. You can sign all the relevant documents online.
Is the storage site safe and secure?
Yes, they are fully alarmed with CCTV. The premises are protected by security fencing and gates as well as the required safety measures.
Is it possible to access my belongings once they are in storage?
Yes, with at least 36 working hours' notice (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm). There is a fee of £5 (VAT incl.) per container each time.
Are there any restrictions on what I can store?
Yes, there are a few exceptions, please refer to our terms and conditions
When I want to remove my belongings from storage permanently do I need to give you advance notice?
Yes. To end your storage, please give us at least 10 working days' notice, as set out in our terms and conditions. Storage is charged until the notice period ends.
Are my items insured?
Yes. Each container has insurance for a total value of £2000. You can also purchase extra insurance if your items are worth more.
Do I need a padlock?
No. Each container has is own self-locking system.

Self-Storage Bayswater
Self-Storage Bayswater, Secure Containers Delivered to Your W2 Address
Space in Bayswater does not come cheap. A single parking bay on Queensway can cost more per month than a self-storage unit that holds the contents of an entire bedroom.
That mismatch is exactly why self-storage Bayswater through RMV works differently from every walk-in facility in W2. Instead of asking you to load a van, drive across London, and wrestle furniture into a corridor-access unit, we deliver a secure storage container directly to your Bayswater address.
Our crew loads it on the spot, dismantling, wrapping, stacking and transports the sealed unit to our monitored facility in Rainham. When you want your belongings back, the same container comes to whichever address you choose.
About Bayswater Self Storage Services
RMV is an AIM-accredited removal and storage company with over fifteen years of operations across London. We carry full Goods in Transit and warehouse-keeper liability insurance, and the containers are kept behind 24-hour CCTV, alarms and security fencing. Those credentials matter when the contents of a Bayswater mansion flat, period furniture, artwork, high-value electronics, are sitting in someone else’s building. You can read more about the standards we maintain on our About Us page.
How Bayswater Self-Storage Works
Each container is 155 cm wide, 215 cm deep and 245 cm tall: 35 square feet of floor and 280 cubic feet of space. A single unit handles a large bedroom or a studio flat clearance.
Two containers suit the typical one-bedroom conversion flat found along Craven Hill and Leinster Gardens. Three cover a two-bedroom apartment, and five or six will absorb a full lateral flat or maisonette on one of the garden squares around Paddington and Sussex Gardens. You book only the number of containers you need, and the weekly price scales linearly, no minimum square footage, no hidden access charges.
Loading is handled by our trained crew, who arrive with protective blankets, tools for dismantling bed frames and wardrobes, and a specialist trolley for buildings with lifts, essential in Bayswater where most mansion blocks and Victorian conversions involve upper-floor access with no goods entrance.
Storage unit rental runs on a rolling month to month storage basis with no contract storage units, so you can cancel at any time: give at least 10 working days' notice, and storage is charged until the notice period ends.
Storage During a Bayswater House Move
Bayswater sits inside one of the most transactional property markets in London. Leasehold sales, share-of-freehold conversions, and short-let rotations all create timing gaps where your belongings need somewhere to go.
Storage during a house move bridges the period between exchange and completion without forcing you into a short-term rental or a friend’s spare room. Our Bayswater removals team loads your home directly into containers on moving day, holds everything at the facility for the duration of the gap, and delivers to the new address once keys are confirmed.
The house removals with storage service runs as a single coordinated job, same crew, same insurance, one point of contact throughout.
Not every W2 move needs a full crew. A single room of furniture going into storage ahead of a kitchen refit, the contents of a home office moving out for a tenancy changeover, or a few large items that will not fit into a smaller new flat, our Bayswater man and van collects, loads, and delivers to the facility in a single trip. That flexibility turns short term storage during removal from a logistical headache into a one-call booking.
Who Uses Self-Storage in Bayswater?
The W2 postcode covers one of the most diverse residential profiles in London, and the demand for storage facilities near Bayswater reflects that. Owner-occupiers in the mansion blocks along Westbourne Terrace and Cleveland Square use furniture storage while reconfiguring interiors or staging flats for sale. Landlords managing buy-to-let portfolios across Notting Hill and Westbourne Grove rotate tenant furnishings in and out of containers between tenancies.
Student storage London serves the steady flow of Imperial College and University of Westminster students who clear rented rooms each summer but intend to return in the autumn.
Business storage units are equally relevant in Bayswater. Independent retailers along Queensway and Westbourne Grove keep excess stock, seasonal displays, and point-of-sale materials in containers rather than paying for back-of-shop square footage at W2 commercial rents.
Document storage and archive storage suit the medical practices, legal firms, and private clinics clustered around Praed Street and Kensington that must retain physical records but cannot justify dedicating consulting-room space to filing.
Seasonal storage makes particular sense in a postcode where the average flat has no garage, no loft, and often no basement. Winter coats and ski equipment swap with summer garden furniture; Christmas decorations cycle in and out every November. A single container at £19.99 per week replaces a cramped cupboard that was never designed to hold it all.
Self-Storage Prices and Unit Sizes
Every container is the same physical dimensions, which makes the self-storage cost straightforward to calculate: one unit at £19.99 per week, scaling linearly as you add more. That price is all-inclusive, collection from your W2 address, crew labour, furniture dismantling, protective wrapping, transport to the facility, and delivery back when you are ready.
There are no access fees, no introductory-rate traps that double after the first month, and no surcharges for weekend collections. Customers searching for cheap self-storage or affordable self-storage in the Bayswater area will find that our rate is competitive with walk-in facilities on Queensway and Praed Street once you factor in the van hire, fuel, congestion charge, and physical labour those operators expect you to provide yourself.
Unsure how much space you need? The online storage calculator on our website maps a room count and furniture list to a container quantity, with the total price updating in real time.
For a personal estimate, call 0208 0900 232 and our team will talk through it based on what you are storing, whether that is a small storage unit equivalent for a few archive boxes or large storage units covering a full four-bedroom lateral flat.
Packing for Storage
Belongings going into long term storage need proper preparation. Mattresses should be sealed in protective bags to prevent damp absorption; glass and china require individual wrapping; upholstered furniture benefits from dust covers.
If you would like to pack in advance, order boxes, bubble wrap, wardrobe cartons, mattress covers and tape from our Bayswater packing service for delivery to your W2 address.
Our blog has guides on how to pack a storage unit and on what you can store in a storage unit under our standard insurance. Each container is dry, clean, and ventilated, insured to £2,000 as standard, with additional cover available for higher-value items.
Beyond Bayswater
RMV covers every London postcode and the surrounding Home Counties. The same container service available in W2 runs identically in Shepherds Bush, Mayfair, Hampstead, and every other area on our coverage list. If your move originates in Bayswater but the destination is overseas, our international removals service coordinates shipping, customs documentation, and container logistics from your W2 door to the destination port.
Belongings that are not travelling can sit in Bayswater storage at the same weekly rate until you decide what to do with them.
Whether you need a single locker storage unit equivalent for a handful of boxes, a room size storage unit for a complete bedroom clearance, or six containers for a full lateral flat, self-storage Bayswater through RMV gives you insured, crew-loaded, contract-free space at a fixed weekly rate.
No driving to a depot in Staples Corner, no wrestling furniture down mansion-block stairwells into a hire van, no padlock to lose. Ring 0208 0900 232 or book online, and a storage unit near Bayswater arrives at your door.
Storage tips
Storing it the right way
What you can’t store
Nothing perishable, such as food or plants. Nothing flammable or hazardous, such as paint, aerosols, gas canisters, petrol, fireworks or chemicals. Nothing illegal and nothing alive. Rugs, soft furnishings and mattresses should be clean and completely dry.
Storage rules explainedIs it worth storing?
Ask two questions: would you buy it again today at full price, and would storing it for as long as you expect cost more than replacing it later? Irreplaceable items, and records you must legally keep, sit outside that test.
Is storage worth it?Set a review date
Put a review date in the calendar on day one: six weeks of storage during a chain can quietly become three years. At each review, bring it home, dispose of it, or decide to keep storing it for a stated reason.
Is storage worth it?Riki and the team were absolute professionals, packing and moving my very full 2-bed apartment on just a week's notice. They were super accommodating, moving some items to storage and others across London. Everything was handled with care, from clothes to books to works of art. They were speedy and I would highly recommend their services.
