Professional Packing Services in London
Packing is the part of a move that takes the longest and causes the most damage when it is rushed. Our London packing service puts a trained RMV packer in your home with every material needed, so your belongings are wrapped, boxed, labelled and ready before the van arrives. We pack houses, flats and offices across London, either as a stand-alone service or as part of a full London removal.
You choose how much help you need. A full packing service covers every room, from the kitchen cupboards to the loft. A partial packing service focuses on the items that take the most care and time, typically the kitchen, fragile items, mirrors, artwork and electronics. If you have already started, we simply take over from wherever you have reached.
How Our Packing Day Works
Before the day, tell us about your home and what you would like packed. You can send us a walkthrough video of your property, which helps us plan the right number of packers and the amount of materials needed. On the day, your packers arrive with everything, agree a plan with you and work through the home room by room, usually starting with the rooms you use least and finishing with the kitchen and the essentials you need until the last moment.
Each item is wrapped for its type, boxes are packed heavy at the bottom and light at the top, and every box is sealed and labelled. Furniture is protected with covers so it is ready to load. By the time we leave, everything is ready for a smooth, damage-free move.
Packaging Materials
Our packers bring everything needed to protect your belongings: strong moving boxes, bubble wrap, foam wrap, packing tape, mattress and sofa covers, wardrobe boxes and wrapping paper for china and glassware. Materials are either included or available at discounted prices, so there are no hidden extra costs and nothing for you to source before the day.
Every box is labelled with its room and contents as part of the service, so unpacking at your new home is quick and nothing ends up in the wrong room. Wardrobe boxes keep clothes hanging, and mattress and sofa covers keep soft furnishings clean and dry while they are carried and transported.
Prefer to pack yourself? Our packing shop sells the same Pack like a PRO boxes, tape and wrapping materials our team uses, including complete removal packing kits, with delivery to any London address.
How Much Does a Packing Service Cost?
Packing is charged by the hour, with VAT included: from £65 per hour for one packer, £75 for two packers and £85 for three, with a minimum charge of 2 hours. A small flat or a partial pack usually needs one packer, while larger homes are packed faster and more cost-effectively by a team. Tell us about your property and we will recommend the right number of packers and give you a clear price before you book. For a wider view of what a move costs, our London removals cost guide sets out typical prices by property size.
Fragile, Valuable and Specialist Items
China, glassware, mirrors and pictures are wrapped individually in specialist paper and bubble wrap, then packed in strong boxes marked as fragile. For items that need more protection, we offer fine art and antique packing, custom crating for oversized or irregular pieces, and a dedicated piano packing service. Electronics, TVs and computer equipment are wrapped and boxed so they arrive ready to set up.
Booking, Same-Day and Last-Minute Packing
You can book your packing service up to the day before your move, and a professional will come to your home on the day you choose. When plans change at short notice, we also offer same-day and last-minute packing for urgent situations, subject to availability. Booking packing alongside your removal gives the smoothest result: the packing team finishes, and the removal team loads everything straight onto the van.
Packing and Unpacking
Our service does not have to stop at the front door. We can unpack everything at your new home, putting boxes in the right rooms and clearing away the packaging, so you are settled from the first night. If your furniture was taken apart for the move, our handyman and furniture assembly service can put beds, wardrobes and flat-pack furniture back together so everything is ready from day one.
Office and Commercial Packing
Office moves need packing that keeps the business running. Our packers work through desks, files, IT equipment and shared spaces methodically, labelling everything so each team can find their belongings at the new premises. Where required, we work outside standard office hours and at weekends to keep disruption to a minimum.
Packing for Removals, Man and Van and Storage
Packing works with every RMV service. For a full house move, combine it with our London removals service. For smaller moves, single rooms and student moves, pair self-packing or a partial pack with our man and van service. If there is a gap between moving out and moving in, our London storage service keeps your packed boxes secure until your new home is ready, and labelled boxes make it easy to retrieve exactly what you need.
Moving abroad? Our export packing meets international transit standards, and our international removals team is involved in the packing from the outset, so your belongings are protected for the longer journey.
Packing Tips if You Pack Yourself
If you decide to pack some or all of your home yourself, start early with rooms and items you rarely use. Use small boxes for books and heavy items, and large boxes for light items such as bedding and cushions. Wrap plates and glasses individually, fill gaps so nothing moves inside the box, and keep a separate box of essentials for your first night. Label each box with its room and contents on the top and the side.
Fully Insured, AIM-Accredited Packers
Our packing service is fully insured with public liability and goods in transit insurance, and we are members of the Association of Independent Movers (AIM), an independently assessed standard for quality and customer protection. Our packers are our own trained team, not subcontractors, and they arrive on time, work methodically room by room, and leave your home tidy.

We pack homes and offices across London, with local pages for North London, East London, West London, Islington, Hackney, Kensington & Chelsea, Barnet and Enfield, among others. See every location on our areas we cover page, and for moving guides and packing tips, visit our blog.

Packing tips
Pack like a pro
Choose the right box size
Small boxes (45.7 × 30.5 × 30.5 cm, 42 litres) for books, crockery and other heavy items. Medium (45.7 × 45.7 × 30.5 cm, 63 litres) for clothes, pots and pans. Large (45.7 × 45.7 × 50.8 cm, 105 litres) for bedding and light, bulky items.
Wrap fragile items one by one
Wrap each item on its own in packing paper, or bubble wrap for larger pieces. Line the box with scrunched paper, fill every gap, put paper inside bowls and vases, and mark the box with fragile tape.
How to pack a box
Heaviest items at the bottom, lighter ones on top, and no empty spaces. Keep the top flat so boxes stack, seal the centre seam and edges with packing tape rather than masking tape, and label each box with its room and contents.
Arrived on time, friendly and professional service. Packed and unpacked with care and attention with no breakages, and nothing was ever too much to ask. Would definitely recommend to any of our family or friends.
